Water Quality Test

Water quality is important for health. Large number of water sources are polluted with waste, pesticides etc. In every year, students are loosing classes due to water born diseases. Hence the school was decided to conduct water quality testing. We have received the support of Jalanidhi project for conducting training on water quality testing. After the training, our students were able to conduct water quality test with the test kit.

Stage 1 - Training on testing the water samples

Student leaders were given special training on testing the water samples using a special kit provided by Jalanidhi. Programme was inaugurated by panchayat president Smt. Shiny Santhosh. 25 students were trained.

Stage 2 - Testing the quality of water samples

The trained student leaders tested the quality of water samples. The measurement of iron, chloride, nitrate, fluoride and PH value were calculated. 242 samples of drinking water were collected from 14 wards of Poonjar Thekkekara Panchayat.

 Stage 3 - Publishing the result (Activity - 22)
The test result of all the samples was handed over to the Jalanidhi Project Commissioner Smt. Geetha S Nair and to the Panchayat. The result was published in the Jalasree club  blog.

Stage 4 - Distribution of pamphlets

With the support of Jalanidhi, leaflets about the water quality problems and their solutions were distributed among the students and all the houses in the Panchayat.
